Lifeline Northern NSW will mark World Suicide Prevention Day on Sunday 8 September in Ballina, with their annual 'Out of the Shadows Walk'.

Meet at Missingham Park at 5am and walk as the sun rises, to Angel's Beach and back along the beautiful Ballina coastal pathway.

The event will commemorate those lives lost to suicide while raising awareness about suicide and its prevention.

They hope to raise much needed funds for Lifeline Northern NSW so that local volunteers can continue to play their vital role in answering calls to the national crisis line 13 11 14. The walk is 9 KMs - the number nine is particularly relevant as every day in Australia, nine people a day take their own life. Register for the walk and/or set up a fundraising profile HERE
