Featured artist for the month of February is Vicki Knudson

VICKI KNUDSON

Vicki started making costume jewellery about twelve years ago when she saw a stunning necklace which had been donated to a charity by a local artisan as a raffle prize. She didn’t win the necklace but was able to have one made by the designer. She then began taking lessons from her and her jewellery-making hobby took hold!

Since then, she's made dozens of necklaces, bracelets and earrings, together with other décor items which she usually gives to friends. Working with beads is totally absorbing and helps to foster her ‘creative side’, as it takes time to decide how to best display the features of the individual beads, then design and create each unique piece.

Mostly, Vicki uses natural stones such as crystals, quartz, agates, shell and wood, though there are many decorative glass and ceramic beads which enhance a particular design.
Vicki joined the Creative Artisans Gallery volunteer partnership team over five years ago and appreciates this wonderful outlet which provides the opportunity for local artisans to display their works and sell them to people who appreciate their talents.
