5 Marvell Street Byron Bay

Experience this opportunity to swim alongside majestic sea turtles and contribute to their conservation at Nguthungulli Julian Rocks (NJR).

Become a citizen scientist: during the workshop, you will learn some of the ecology and biology of our local sea turtle species, how to identify them, and how to help protect them! Once in the water, you will have the chance of swimming along more than 500 species of fish, eagle rays, manta rays, leopard sharks, grey nurse sharks, wobbegongs, and more! If we spot a sea turtle, we will do our best to capture a clear picture of their face for our photo-identification project - and if it's a new turtle, you get to name it!

Your participation, education, and photo-identification contributions directly support the conservation of these critically endangered animals.

Byron Bay Turtle School conducts scientific research under an NSW government permit.
