For more than thirty years, Rotary has been conducting the Great Duck Race on the banks of the Richmond River and, this year, they are due to launch there faux-feathered friends on Sunday 10 November.  Fawcett Park will the hub of great food, games, entertainment, music, duck racing, best dressed duck and more.

Regional busineses show their support by buying a "Corporate Duck" for fifty dollars and then decorating it to promote their businesses. The corporate ducks have a 'Best Dressed Duck' event.

The main event is the Community Duck Race, with one thousand ducks launched into the Richmond River. All of the ducks are numbered with corrseponding tickets sold to the public before the event with prizes for the winning ticket holders.
