NAIDOC Week celebrations commence this Saturday, 1 July and everyone is invited to attend. NAIDOC is the abbreviation of National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee. The week long celebrations provide an opportunity for all of us to reflect on and acknowledge the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal people.
You and your visitors are invited to enjoy a brand new cultural music festival from 9:30am to 3pm on Saturday 1 July at Missingham Park Amphitheatre. There will be a string of bands and live performances from musicians, singers and dancers not to mention some other great indigenous activities like boomerang and didgeridoo making and some other fun interactive activities and workshops. There will also be food and drinks available.
The community’s annual Celebration Walk will occur along River Street, commencing at 10.30am on Monday 3 July from the Ballina RSL Club. All are invited to attend.
