Great Southern Nights is a music event which will bring 1,000 COVID-safe performances to live music venues in Greater Sydney and regional NSW in November (Australian Music Month).
This event is a NSW Government initiative, delivered by its tourism and major events agency Destination NSW in partnership with the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) to stimulate the revival of the live music and entertainment sectors and in turn the visitor economy in the recovery phase of COVID-19.
If you are a music venue, you can now apply for support to host a gig as part of NSW’s industry-leading new music event, Great Southern Nights, in November.
Headline artists already secured for Great Southern Nights are Jimmy Barnes, Birds of Tokyo, Missy Higgins, The Jungle Giants, Paul Kelly, Thelma Plum, The Presets, Amy Shark, Tash Sultana, The Teskey Brothers, Tones and I and The Veronicas with further announcements to follow soon.
Any venue that has previously hosted a gig and can deliver a COVID-safe event will be considered. Venues around NSW are encouraged to apply now to be part of the Great Southern Nights program.
Applications close on Friday 14 August. Venues are reminded to complete their COVID-Safe plan and register as COVID-safe via NSW.gov.au/covid-19/covid-safe-businesses.
