Ballina Shire Council will be undertaking upgrades to the walking track to the Killen Falls viewing platform and carrying out revegetation works in the Killen Falls Drive area. The walking track will be closed from 19 October 2020 to 13 November 2020 (weather permitting) while the works are underway.
During this period, there will be no public access to the viewing platform, waterfall, public toilet and Rous Water Walk.
The upgrade is important to improve public amenity and accessibility to the viewing platform and to protect the vegetation and natural landscape by better defining the pathway.
A Traffic Control Plan will be in place to close the end of Killen Falls Drive and the carpark to the public, however access will be maintained for local residents and contractors during this time. Council wishes to thank the community in advance for their patience during the works, and apologises for any inconvenience.
Please note five days of this period includes closure due to filming.
