Murwillumbah is a small country town located in the Tweed Valley Hinterland and is known as the creative and cultural hub of the Tweed Valley. Shopfronts in Murwillumbah resemble that of historic federation-style buildings and are home to several cafes, restaurants, boutiques and homeware stores.

Murwillumbah has a rich artistic culture and is home to the Tweed Regional Gallery and Margaret Olley Centre, one of the best regional galleries in Australia and is a drawcard to many visitors to the Northern Rivers. From the Gallery, beautiful views of Wollumbin Mount Warning and the Tweed Valley can be seen. The Tweed Regional Gallery and Margaret Olley Centre is open Wednesday to Sunday 10am-5pm.

Farming is one of the biggest industries around the Tweed Valley and on Wednesdays the local farmers markets are held at the Murwillumbah from 7am-11am. Make sure to stop in and meet the local farmers and pick up some great local produce.

Located twenty one minutes from Murwillumbah is Wollumbin National Park, home to Mount Warning the remnant central vent of an ancient volcano. Amongst the national park there are several great walking tracks and picnic spots located amongst the rainforest.

The Murwillumbah Visitor Information Centre is located at 281 Tweed Valley Way, south Murwillumbah. It is open Monday to Saturday from 9am-4:30pm and Sunday 9:30am-4pm. To contact them directly phone (02) 6672 1340.
