Protesters Falls - Nightcap National Park
Details
This is an ideal short walk for families and nature-lovers, and it’s a great stop on a scenic drive amongst the hinterland near Lismore and Nimbin nestled in Byron's hinterland.
Protesters Falls is a waterfall located in the World Heritage Listed Nightcap National Park and named after the Terania Creek protests which took place in the late 1970's. These protests are what saved this beautiful rainforest and is the reason that it still exists today.
Enjoy a picturesque 1.4km return walk through this magnificient rainforest, venturing through the tall trees and listening to the sweet sounds of the running creek. At the end of the track you will arrive at the base of the waterfall.
Swimming is not permitted in this area due to the threatened Fleay's Barred Frog and Pouched Frog.
