Explore the fundamentals of painting with a focus on natural pigments, non-toxic, plastic free mediums, and an ecologically sensitive approach to art making with Northern Rivers Community Gallery's exhibiting artist Emily Imeson.

In this two-day workshop Emily will take participants through the fundamentals of preparing surfaces to work on, and making paints from natural pigments, followed by guided drawing exercises, and painting demonstrations, both abstract and landscape based. The workshop will then move into experimental mark-making and an exploration of the materials, with a final focus on the creation of two small compositions. At the end of the workshop participants will have two small, completed works to take home with them.

This workshop is ticketed and has a limited capacity. Tools and materials are provided, and there will be a short break for lunch. Bring water and food or enjoy the Gallery Café next door.
