The Dreadnaught Boys Exhibition

Sunday, 03 November 2024

Time: 1pm - 4pm

Category:

The latest exhibition at Crawford House Museum at Alstonville is about the Dreadnought Boys.

These young lads, often only 15 or 17, left family and friends in the UK to find a new life in the labour-starved rural communities of Australia between 1911 and 1939. By popular demand, the exhibition will now run until Friday 31st January.

The museum is at 10 Wardell Road Alstonville and is open Fridays 10am-4pm and Sundays 1pm-4pm or at other times by appointment for groups (but we’re closed between 21st December and 2nd January). By the way, come and have a look at our books about local history – they make ideal Christmas gifts.
